Eden sports sweater

Here is Eden wearing a lovely blue sweater knit by none other than Aunt Liz. It was originally Jesse's but he has far out grown it and I must say Eden seems right at home in it. Plus, the blue goes great with her eyes.

Meeting Eden

Peter and Daria came to visit yesterday. It was great to see Dad holding little Eden, and Olive had a terrific time playing with Daria. John's sister Catherine was here as well and we enjoyed a lovely lunchtime chatting all together. Wish we could do it more often.

Eden Anne

She is here! Eden Anne was born on Wednesday, October 17, 2007. She weighs 8 pounds exactly and is 20 inches long. We are so very happy to welcome Eden into the family.

BBQ in Highland

We had a great time on Saturday at Peter and Daria's party. Great food, cool band and a terrific little swimming pool. Here are just a few pics, sorry to emphasize the toddlers but they do catch your eye.

Massachusetts Pictorial

This past weekend us Adameks headed up to Massachusetts for a visit with Liz and the family. We enjoyed a trip to a nearby farm, walks around Northampton town, games of Twister and Bingo, as well as a sunny morning at the nearby lake. On Sunday we stopped at the Yale University Art Gallery designed by architect Luis Kahn. It was a great way to celebrate Father's Day as well. Thanks for having us!

Cousins in the Gardens

Today we enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. Anna is visiting from Massachusetts and Olive couldn't get enough of her, especially when she lent a hand at the water fountain.

We just returned from a quick trip to Ohio in celebration of John's parents 50th wedding anniversary. They renewed their vows 50 years to the hour and then we are had a lovely dinner with dancing. They also threw a little surprise birthday party for Olive albeit it a few weeks early. We had a great whirlwind of a time and along the way Olive got wrapped up in some curtains.

Anna receives fellowship to study..what was that again?

This in from the Keck foundation's summer research program for Geology:

Anna has been selected to participate in the Sedimentary Environments & Paleoecology of Proterozoic & Cambrian Avalonian Strata in the U.S. for the 2007-2008 Program Year. The letter goes on to say "The applicant pool was extremely competitive this year, and our offer is a reflection of your outstanding qualifications." (Just humor me in my proud momma moment).

Ladies at Brunch

We had a special treat from New England this weekend, Aunt Liz! On Saturday we all went out for brunch where Olive seemed to light up the entire establishment. She made a point of hamming it up with folks from all the nearby tables and really laying on the charm with the wait staff. The whole morning was lovely and we hope to make a ritual of it, at least once a season, right?

Snow!!!

At long last. Sam and Ben have been enjoying sledding and tubing on the hill behind our house. And since no one has seen where we now live, I thought I would include a pic of our new home. Kind of all American huh?

Technical FYI

Blogger is now requiring us all to have a Google account in order to post on the blog. I followed their directions and found out that you do not need a G-mail email address to have an account with Google. So, I simply used my existing email address to open the account and it was easy enough. I hope you find it simple too. Of course, you can read the blog without updating your account, but you wont be able to post.

Grandma Denise Serves Up Oatmeal

This weekend we all headed up to Pine Bush where Olive enjoyed some oatmeal with Grandma and her favorite dog Beau. It was cold upstate and we kept that wood stove roaring around the clock. As you can see, we all enjoyed some extra time in our PJs. We also had a nice visit with Dad & Daria. Their new home is lovely.

Large Screen TV Welcomed Home

Olive and Izzy were happy to welcome the 32 inch, flat screen TV into our home this week. Since then we have been watching some marvelous DVD titles such as Elmo's Potty Time and the Little Einsteins. We will be hosting a Super Bowl party in celebration of our newest home electronic this Sunday evening. Everyone welcome.

Holidays with the cousins
