Olive enjoys Christmas gifts

As you can tell from the ecstatic face of our daughter we have had a terrific Christmas time. Olive's most favorite gift is her new couch from Aunt Jen and Uncle John. Isabel has the same one and Olive just loved visiting Isabel and playing on her couch, now she has her own. She also received a really huge doll from her Adamek grandparents (pictured on the right) and enough chocolate from Nana Denise to go sleepless until New Year's.

Holiday Visit

We had a lovely visit on Sunday, the guests are pictured here, Daria, Julie, Dad, Jared, James, and Emily. It was a special treat to have the whole gang (minus Liz's crew, boo hoo) here in Brooklyn. Let's do it again soon.

And congratulations to Julie for driving over the GW Bridge for the first time!

Rub A Dub Dub (Izzy in the tub)

J, J & I finally hitting the blogs.

Isabel has recently discovered the joys of bubble baths (thanks to her cuz, Olive). We think she gets the white bubbles confused with ice cream because she tries to eat them! (and yes we feed her plenty during the day).

Pine Bush Weekend

We spent this past weekend in Pine Bush with our friends Vito & Monique. We enjoyed the bright sunshine and some birthday cake. Our car broke down which was slightly problematic particularly with guests, but Elisa came to the rescue at the last minute and we all made it safely back to Brooklyn. Now we are gearing up for the holidays, I can't wait to go buy a Christmas tree later in the week.

Christmas Gift Wishes

Here is how the gift project will go. Everyone can post their wish lists in the comments section of this post (just click on the comments link below), don't create a whole new post though. You must submit gift ideas for everyone in your household. Then, you will receive a secret email from me telling you who you are supposed to get a gift for. Let me know if you have any questions.

Apple anyone?

I've been waiting to ask Elena what picture of her I should post but I'm tired of waiting for her to answer my phone calls so this is it. Elena is so very busy these days emailing, text messaging, and talking on the phone, not to mention attending classes, writing papers til the wee hours of the morn, and working at Arise for Social Justice, that she just doesn't have the time to call her mother. Elena, if you don't like the picutre, call me!

Isabel & Olive

Isabel & Olive have been enjoying several afternoons a week together. We have a nice schedule set up where they run around for a good hour, then eat snack and watch a video for thirty minutes before another hour of running around. Here is a picture of the two of them during the relaxing stage. I set up a pile of pillows on the living room floor and they even like to cuddle up sometimes.

Ben's ceremony

Liz's Anna Update

You asked for it. Here's my little girl. Pretty cute huh? Anna's ship has set sail and she is on her way to Tahiti. I woke up (at 3 am) wondering how she was sleeping in her tiny little bed, if she was seasick (I hear they all spend the first few days hurling...), if she missed us (of course she does).

christmas gifts

Hey there. wer're so high tech. I'm fine with whatever gift arrangement--just let me know. Do you think Julie will go for it?

Christmas Idea

John's family has a great Christmas tradition of assigning gift giving responsibilities to family members. For example, John & I only have to get a gift for one other sibling, not all 10, and then we will receive a gift from the one sibling who had us. They keep gift assignments secret which adds to the fun. I'd be happy to organize that for us all if you are interested. There would be an adult group and a kid group for 18 and under. We'd start by getting Christmas lists and agreeing upon a dollar amount. In John's family people usually spend around $50 (give or take about $25) on their assigned person.
